A two-day practical course in traditional greenwood fencing. You’ll learn how to cleave timber using hand tools and apply heritage techniques to prepare and install fencing on site. To be eligible for this course you must live, work or volunteer in Denbighshire.

About the event

This is a fully hands-on course - you’ll be working with freshly cut timber, learning how to split, shape and fix rails and uprights using traditional methods. The fencing we make will be installed on our site, and you’ll leave with the knowledge and confidence to cleave and install your own fencing at home.


We’ll be working outdoors and getting properly stuck in, so bring warm layers, sturdy footwear, and clothes you don’t mind getting a bit muddy.


To be eligible for this course you must live, work or volunteer in Denbighshire.


This is a two day course, please ensure you are available for both dates before booking:


  • Wednesday 4th March, 10AM – 3PM

  • Thursday 5th March, 10AM – 3PM
