Our new chapter is beginning! Our current rounds of funding for The Little Learning Company #UKSPF (Denbighshire) and #WXMSPF (Wrexham) are coming to an end, which means our funded workshops and courses will be finishing up at the end of this month. We just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s taken part, it’s been amazing to see so many people getting involved, learning new skills and getting creative with us. We were delighted to support St Mary’s School in Overton with staff development through a creative decoupage workshop inspired by traditional Welsh love spoons.

Our Heritage provision at HMP Berwyn has been going from strength to strength over the last few months. The men have developed their skills on a number of different projects which has resulted in them completing our Accredited Level 1 Love Spoon course with our fantastic tutor Vicky. Our final Heritage Arts & Crafts sessions have just come to an end at Brymbo Enterprise Centre . These fantastic workshops held in partnership with Outside Lives , have brought people together through creativity, connection and shared heritage crafts. These learner comments say it all!

We’re so impressed by the fantastic pyrography benches that will soon be installed around Llangollen. A huge thank you to Wynne Construction  for kindly donating 21 pallets to support our upcoming community woodwork courses! We’re also very grateful to Sara Evans, who helped arrange everything and to the lovely, friendly delivery driver who dropped them off for us. It was a pleasure to present over 70 certificates to learners on the GROW course in Abergele today. Learners worked with our tutors, Gill and CJJ Training  to achieve certificates in First Aid, Fire Safety, Food Hygiene, Allergen Awareness, Customer Service and Working in a Team Congratulations all. We look forward to meeting the new group in May!

At our recent Stick Character Carving Workshop, learners transformed wood into beautifully detailed figures! We are blown away by the incredible skill and craftsmanship, a huge congratulations to everyone who took part. Keep an eye on our website for more upcoming workshops with David.

What a Lovely Morning at the Hub! We joined the weekly coffee morning and hosted a fantastic upcycling session. Everyone had a brilliant time, and the session with Zoe was a real highlight — relaxed, creative, and so enjoyable. It was lovely to see everyone getting involved and sharing such a positive morning together.

We are excited to announce that we will soon be running inspiring heritage craft courses in community venues in Chester, including block printing, clay, weaving, felting, folk art, blacksmithing, family craft sessions and much more! Follow our page for updates on our first courses.

Learners had the chance to explore the art and techniques of lino printing recently at our lino-print journal workshops across Wrexham! From designing prints inspired by natural forms to carving and printing their creations, it was wonderful to see everyone trying new skills and leaving with something uniquely their own.

Huge well done to our Denbighshire Workshop learners, who mastered traditional techniques to create their own three-legged wooden stools. How fantastic do these look!

These marbled notebooks were created by learners at Aspris College, exploring the traditional craft of paper marbling! We’re so impressed by their creativity and the stunning results achieved.

We are really excited to be involved with this amazing project and can't wait to see the benches sited around the town! Llangollen Town Council are replacing a number of benches in the area that have disappeared or been damaged over the years. We have funded a Tutor for a Community Art Project for members of the Community to decorate the benches with images celebrating local history, culture, landmarks, landscape, heritage and wildlife. Last week we held our Indian Folk Art Painting Workshop at Heritage Works, with learners exploring traditional patterns, bold colours and storytelling through paint. Take a look at some of the beautiful pieces created during the workshop!
