Read our wonderful tutor Jen’s annual update and find out what she’s been up to at The Little Learning Company this year!

"This year I travelled far and wide for The Little Learning Company, running heritage workshops across multiple venues in Denbighshire and Wrexham County.

Highlights included running twenty-two sessions of Canal Boat Art at HMP Berwyn, with the prisoners creating some fantastic art which was exhibited at The Little Learning Company’s workshop at Eagles Meadows. The men are always so keen to learn, appreciative for the opportunity and I always receive a warm welcome.

I ran two accredited Folk Art courses and was delighted with the standard of work produced and friendships forged during these sessions. Certificates are in the post!

There were workshops for senior schools far and wide and a wonderful series of After School sessions run at the Heritage Works Venue in Denbigh. I have been providing heritage sessions for several lovely charities across the region and enjoyed sharing the therapeutic benefits of art and craft with the learners.

Seasonal workshops started in Autumn with Folk Art foxes and Canal Boat Flowerpots, and I was given the opportunity to paint the window at the Heritage Works venue in Denbigh. Halloween week was busy with activities for younger children including Pumpkin painting and Mexican Folk Art Skulls.

The run up to Christmas has been busy with workshops creating Folk and Canal Boat Art tableware to adorn festive tables across the two counties.

It has been a busy but wonderful year where I have had the privilege to meet and teach some fantastic people. Huge thanks to The Little Learning Company for sourcing, facilitating and supporting every workshop and I can't wait to see what 2026 will bring!"
